Solitary trails to Singjen Himal and Tamang Heritage of Rasuwa

Except for local herders who travel with their livestock every year to the alpine pastures here, only the occasional adventurer finds his/her way to Singjen Himal. This trek also treads newly-opened trails in the Rasuwa region north of Kathmandu to discover among others the Tamang culture of Rasuwa, medieval villages of Gatlang and Thuman, and the ancient salt-trade route to Kyirong in Tibet . The trek ends with a visit to the popular Langtang valley and the holy lake of Gosainkund , which Lord Shiva is said to have formed with his trident in order to quench his thirst.
